Full job description

Job Posting: Medical Office Assistant

Location: Northeast, Calgary

Salary: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Type: Part time (6 to 8 hours per shift, 3 or 4 days per week) for now with the possibility of going to full time (5 days per week) in the future depending on clinic staffing and needs. May be a mix of mostly in person and occasional remote work (work from home - must have your own laptop, internet connection and cellphone). **Will be required to work some evenings till 7 pm and some weekends (Sundays)**

**Requirements**:

- MOA Diploma/Certificate.

- Minimum 1 year experience in an MOA position.

- Proficiency in Accuro EMR (minimum 6 months experience).

- Demonstrated leadership skills and high level of accountability.

- Strong desire to support both team and clients.

- Ability to work independently and adjust priorities as needed.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Excellent customer services skills

- Ability to work in a fast paced environment

**Job Duties**:

*Administration*:

- Obtain and accurately enter patient demographics and background information into EMR.

- Maintain organized, up-to-date patient charts.

- Manage sorting of faxes and emails. Answer patient phone calls and voicemails.

- Follow through on instructions from doctors regarding testing, fees, and appointment bookings.

- Assist with vital signs and medical procedures.

- Ensure optimal levels of clinic supplies, manage orders with vendors, and keep accurate invoice records.

- Prepare and clean exam rooms after each patient visit and set up for procedures.

- Maintain and attach incoming results to patient charts.

- Follow up on requests from physicians and allied staff through EMR.

- Participate in regular meetings with management to share ideas for clinic efficiency.

- Report any clinic equipment issues to appropriate personnel.

- Comply with dress codes, clinic, and operational practices.

- Perform other duties as required.

*Customer Service*:

- Greet patients and answer phone calls, voicemails and emails, handling all customer inquiries, including patient scheduling, in a timely and efficient manner.

- Ensure compliance with organizational policies to provide the best customer experience for all clinic patients.

**Experience**:

- Medical Office Assistant: 1 year (preferred)

- Accuro: 1 year (preferred)

Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
