Medical Office Assistant
Central Okanagan Division of Family Practice
Peachland, West Kelowna and Kelowna, BC

Job details
Pay: $20–$30 an hour
Job type: Permanent, Casual, Full-time, Part-time

Shift and schedule: Monday to Friday.

The Central Okanagan Division is actively supporting recruitment of Medical Office Assistants (MOAs) into Central Okanagan family practices. The medical offices regularly inform the Division of opportunities available within their clinics.

General Responsibilities, but not limited to

  • Greet and assist patients at the front desk, ensuring a welcoming environment.
  • Manage electronic medical records efficiently, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Handle multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments and respond to inquiries.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient needs and concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support office operations and enhance patient care.

General qualifications

  • MOA certificate from an accredited educational institution
  • Previous experience as an MOA
  • Knowledge of Med Access, Telus CHR, Oscar and/or Accuro EMR
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong patient focus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; Detail-oriented
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Subject to criminal background check
