About us

Welcome to Advanced Sleep. We are a rapidly growing company in BC and deliver world-class medical services. We are hiring a Full Time Medical Office Assistant / Receptionist to play a crucial role in the success of the organization.

We are looking for a Medical Office Assistant / Receptionist to be the face of the organization. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in a medical / dental office. You have a positive and caring attitude. You will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with customers and other office staff, from first contact until you establish a positive relationship. If you are motivated and results-driven, and enjoy working in a team environment, we’d like to meet you.

Responsibilities

  • Updating patient records
  • Transitioning paper records to a digital format by performing data entry
  • Sending tissue and fluid samples for laboratory analysis
  • Communicating with labs, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments
  • Calculating billing amounts and sending bills to patients and insurance companies
  • Leading patients to exam rooms or other areas and explaining medical procedures
  • Maintaining medical inventory by ordering new supplies and equipment as needed

Requirements and skills

  • Previous experience in Medical, Sleep or Dental health clinic or strong administrative experience would be really helpful.
  • A positive and caring attitude with a passion for customer service.
  • Answering phone calls and book appointments
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to learn and work with a variety of technologies (training is provided)
  • Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to new programs and equipment
  • Self-motivation to deliver excellent quality results
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Follow up and coordinate patient care
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Assist Patients with their extended health benefits - send pre-authorizations
  • Must be available to work Saturdays
