FULL TIME Sales/Optical Store Assistant

Job Description

  • Your primary function: Pretesting, Patient Intake and Office Administration. Must have 1-2 years experience with pre-testing in a clinical setting with a full time Optometrist or Ophthalmologist.
  • Patient Education
  • Create invoices based on services and products.
  • Send electronic claims to the insurance providers and take payments from the customer.
  • Maintain the cleaning standards of the clinic.
  • Be proactive to maintain the clinic inventory and order as needed.
  • Answer incoming phone calls in a professional manner and book patients.
  • Process all voicemails, emails, digital faxes, and other social media request.
  • Patient recall and book appointments.
  • Insurance predetermination, reconciliation, and patient data validation. Ensure all the patient demographics portion of the EMR and patient’s insurance information are up to date prior to their visit.
  • Send appointment reminders via SMS, email, and phone calls.
  • Check in patients when they arrive and validate all demographics/insurance/HC information.
  • Ensure all required forms are properly filled by the patient and are attached to the patient record under proper classifications.
  • Transfer and document the medical and other information of a patient to the proper fields under the EMR patient record.
  • Schedule follow up appointments as per the doctor’s instructions.
  • Process all specialist appointments and communicate to the patients using the established process.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, leadership team, suppliers, and the public.
  • Assist management and the physicians with their requests.

Compensation:

  • Wage is dependent on the experience. $20-25 per hour.
  • Sales bonus if you involve with Optical Sales
  • Late morning shifts (10am-6pm), Sun/Mon - Closed
  • Required to work on Sat (9.30am-6pm) but closed on every Ontario long weekends.
  • 3 Paid sick days for the employees who are with us for more than a year.
