Full job description

The Med-Health Laboratories Ltd. (MHL) is a community–based laboratory located in North York region of Ontario, serves as an integral component of the health care system. As a member of the Ontario Association of Medical Laboratories (OAML), actively promotes provision of excellent diagnostic laboratory services essential to the health of general public. Collectively, we do our utmost to enhance the well-being of the people in our communities through compassion, excellence and innovation.

Requirements - Qualifications & Experience:

Under the general supervision of the laboratory Manager, MHL full-time and part-time employees are responsible to perform day-to-day assigned laboratory duties in accordance with the accepted laboratory standards, and the policies & procedures of MHL.

· Current CMLTO registration in good standing.

· Provide accurate and timely interpretive and diagnostic specimen testing and reporting. while ensuring the confidentiality of patient information.

· Knowledge & Skills: LIS operation, General computer skills (Word, EXCEL etc.)

· Identifying incidents and non-conformities, participating in the development of effective corrective action plans, escalating as appropriate and driving continuous improvement.

· Excellent communication skills: written & verbal

· Experience with regulatory, quality system and IQMH accreditation requirements

· Competent in problem-solving and decision-making

· Ability to prioritize the operation’s workload

· Demonstrated behaviors consistent with the professional Code of Conduct

· Willing to work flexible weekday/weekend day shifts and on call

· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to inspire professional team work, to work and interact with all levels of staff for positive outcomes
