What You’ll Do

At Island Health, MLAs directly impact patient care by collecting, processing and handling biological specimens, managing essential diagnostic data in fast-paced healthcare environments. Responsibilities and duties are:

  • perform laboratory procedures and related clerical duties,
  • blood and other specimen collection, prepare samples for analysis, distribution and storage of samples,
  • perform laboratory tests such as urinalysis using colour-coded dipsticks and perform Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing where required.

What You Will Need to Apply

  • Successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program.
  • At least one year of recent, related experience.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Vehicle License.
