Job Description


Accountabilities:

  • Apply principles of sterile technique and clean procedures in daily activities
  • Knowledge of the cleaning and sterilizing of endoscopes
  • Assist clinical team during procedures where appropriate
  • Responsible for the cleaning and reprocessing of instrumentation
  • Operating sterilizers, washers, pasteurizer and other Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD) equipment
  • Monitor supplies, replace stock, case picking, keeping work area tidy
  • other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Minimum grade 12 or equivalent
  • Successful completion of community college sterile supply processing certificate required
  • Minimum of two years previous experience in a MDRD role required
  • CSAO membership an asset
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently
  • General knowledge of computers required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to function independently
  • Able to prioritize in a very active environment
  • Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record
  • May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites

Additional Information


DURATION: Approximately twelve (12) months or until the previous incumbent returns.

Currently Evenings/Nights, 8 hour shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Salary:
Minimum: $30.10 per hour
Maximum: $30.81 per hour
