Why is this role important?

As a co-op student you will be involved in a variety of activities that support priority projects for our branch, that help drive CIHI’s overall mandate to deliver on better data, better decisions, for healthier Canadians. The student is responsible for providing support and assistance to the d Health Priorities team in their work to facilitate the eecution of CIHI’s priorities and related initiatives.

What you'll do

1. Support the coordination and development of CIHI’s cross-functional work on the Federal, Provincial and territorial d health priorities portfolio
2. Perform environmental scan and literature reviews for current and relevant health information topics
3. Perform thematic analysis of different topics and summarize results/findings
4. Contribute to the development and maintenance of products that help internal monitoring and support reporting
5. Support management and organization of the team’s information management system
6. Support content development for s, internal communiques, webpages, presentations and other mechanisms for communication as needed
7. Support and participate in collaboration and knowledge sharing within the Thematic Priorities branch and with other teams
8. Attend meetings and write related minutes as required

What you'll bring to the table

• Working towards a graduate (Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Administration, Health Sciences, Health Informatics) program requiring Co-op as part of educational requirement
• Eperience conducting literature searches and reviews, and writing short tets for different audiences (public or professional)
• Eperience in qualitative research and working with qualitative research or tet analytics software is an asset
• Knowledge of current health and social issues is a strong asset
• Knowledge about the Canadian health system, health inequalities measurement, and determinants of health is an asset
• Ability to work as part of a small team with minimal supervision
• Ecellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with eperience interpreting, presenting and writing results of analysis and synthesizing research
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software (Ecel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
• Fluency in English required, bilingualism in both official languages is an asset
