Full job description

Shatayu Medical Clinic is looking for a reliable, professional, and patient-focused Medical Administrative Assistant to join our clinic on a casual contract basis.

We are currently offering shift options, depending on the physician you would be supporting. Hours may vary depending on the physician's schedule and clinic requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The Medical Administrative Assistant will be responsible for a combination of medical reception, administrative, and general clinic support duties, including:

  • Performing general medical reception and administrative duties.
  • Booking, confirming, and managing patient appointments.
  • Greeting and assisting patients in a professional, courteous, and compassionate manner.
  • Preparing examination rooms for upcoming patient appointments.
  • Tracking and following up on faxes, recalls, laboratory results, referrals, and other patient-related correspondence.
  • Preparing and cleaning medical instruments on procedure days, which typically occur approximately once per week.
  • Assisting the physician with dressings and procedures when required.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient clinic environment.
  • Supporting the physicians and clinic team with day-to-day administrative and clinical workflow as needed.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Certificate / Diploma / Degree in Healthcare or Social Work or related fields
  • Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is an asset.
  • Fluency in English - Written, Verbal, and Reading comprehension
  • Knowledge of Accuro EMR is preferred.
  • Candidates who do not have Accuro experience but are willing and able to learn the system are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, friendly, and courteous approach when interacting with patients.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a busy clinic environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a patient-facing, fast-paced medical environment. The successful candidate should be willing to learn, adaptable to changing clinic needs, and able to provide a positive experience for our patients.

Pay: $17.00 per hour
