Location: Winnipeg, MB (Hybrid, full-time onsite training for approximately 6 weeks, followed by 2 days onsite per week)

Language: English, advanced written and verbal communication required

Duration: 8-Month Contract with possibility of extension and long-term career opportunities

Background Check Requirement: Criminal Record Check, Employment Verification, Education Verification, and eligibility to obtain a Reliability Security Clearance

About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Claims Examiner to join a leading organization within the financial services and insurance sector. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys administrative work, customer communication, and reviewing detailed information to support important claims decisions.

Working alongside a collaborative team, you will review claims documentation, verify eligibility requirements, and connect with plan members, plan sponsors, and healthcare providers to obtain required information. This role offers valuable industry experience and the potential for permanent employment based on performance.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll review claims documentation and contracts to determine eligibility requirements
  • You’ll follow up with plan members, plan sponsors, and healthcare providers regarding missing or incomplete information
  • You’ll accurately enter, update, and maintain claim information within internal systems
  • You’ll prepare correspondence and documentation related to claim decisions
  • You’ll manage a high volume of administrative tasks while meeting service and productivity expectations
  • You’ll maintain organized electronic records and ensure documentation is processed accurately

Skills and Qualifications

  • 1+ year of customer service, administrative, data entry, or claims-related experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to understand and interpret contractual information and process requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong data entry skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Medical terminology, dental office experience, healthcare administration, disability insurance, or insurance claims experience is considered an asset
