As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a motivated and technically minded Inside / Outside Sales Representative to join our office in Ontario / Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

The Opportunity

This is primarily a sales and business development position, combining inside sales, customer relationship management, and outside sales activities.

The successful candidate will have a Civil Engineering technical background, a strong interest in sales, and the enthusiasm to meet customers and develop new business opportunities throughout Ontario.

We are looking for a highly motivated, proactive, and positive professional who is eager to develop business, build long-term customer relationships, and work collaboratively with our sales and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and issue quotations and proposals using our ERP and CRM systems.
  • Follow up systematically on quotations, opportunities, and customer inquiries.
  • Manage the sales process from the initial contact through to closing the sale.
  • Provide customers with technical information, product recommendations, and solutions based on their applications and needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities throughout the GTA and Ontario.
  • Prospect for new customers through cold calling, email outreach, networking, and customer visits.
  • Visit existing and potential customers to understand their technical requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Promote Geneq's laboratory and field testing, measurement equipment.
  • Achieve sales objectives and contribute to the growth of the Ontario territory.
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive customer experience throughout the entire sales cycle.
  • Work closely with the purchasing, service, and technical teams to ensure customer requirements are properly addressed.
  • Participate in sales meetings, product training, trade shows, conferences, and industry events as required.
  • Keep customer information, sales activities, and opportunities up to date in the CRM system.
  • Stay informed about new products, technologies, applications, and market developments relevant to Geneq's industries.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Technical background in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental sciences, laboratory technology, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • College or university degree is an asset.
  • Previous sales or business development experience is an asset.
  • Experience in technical sales, laboratory equipment, scientific instruments, civil engineering, construction, environmental, or industrial equipment is considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to customers with different levels of technical knowledge.
  • Strong listening, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent follow-up skills and a demonstrated ability to move opportunities forward and close sales.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, persistent, and results-oriented.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to identify customer needs and develop practical solutions.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team environment.
  • Comfortable using ERP systems, databases, Microsoft Office, and other business software.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within the GTA and throughout Ontario.

Compensation

Salary: $60,000 – $100,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

The total compensation package will reflect the candidate's experience, technical knowledge, sales abilities, and ability to develop the territory.

Sales Territory

Primarily the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
