Driver Trainer (full time)

The Regional Driver Trainers (RDTs) will oversee training and compliance for the fleet operations of Linde Canada Packaged Gases, including, but not limited to, providing support for training, SOP implementation, managing and reporting safety KPIs, and the development of personnel in the field distribution and fleet operations.
The RDTs will be responsible for supporting multiple locations and traveling will be necessary to ensure adequate face time with drivers.
What you will enjoy doing* The role focuses on managing training activities across an assigned territory, including onboarding new drivers, refresher sessions, and ongoing skills development A big part of the day-to-day is working directly with drivers—doing coaching sessions, ride-alongs, and road evaluations to reinforce safe driving habits It also involves keeping an eye on driver performance and behaviors, and identifying opportunities for improvement Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records for training, evaluations, and compliance is an important part of the role There’s a strong level of independence, with a focus on prioritizing safety and ensuring consistent standards across the territory Collaboration is key as well—partnering with local managers, and providing guidance and support around driver performance and development What makes you great* A secondary school diploma is required, along with strong, relevant experience—including 5+ years of Class 3 or Class 1 driving and at least 3 years in a similar role A strong safety-first mindset is essential, along with working knowledge of equipment and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations Demonstrated leadership skills are important, with the ability to interact professionally and build positive relationships across teams and management Strong coaching, instructional, and mentoring abilities are key—approaching training with a supportive, friendly, and engaging style The role requires excellent organization skills, including maintaining accurate documentation both digitally and in hard copy Experience in compressed gases, cryogenic liquids, or bulk delivery operations is considered a strong asset Comfort working independently is important, along with the ability to take initiative and manage responsibilities across multiple locations through ongoing communication A positive, flexible attitude and strong communication skills are important, along with adaptability in a dynamic environment Willingness to travel within the assigned region (approximately 40–70% of the time) is required The role includes some physical demands, such as lifting up to 60 pounds, and is well suited for someone passionate about safety, driver development, and continuous improvement
