Working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, the Healthcare Integration Analyst will translate clinical workflow and data exchange requirements into detailed integration specifications while supporting reliable and compliant interoperability across healthcare systems.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Develop detailed Interface Control Documents (ICDs), data mapping specifications, and transformation logic between source and target systems.
- Design, configure, parse, and validate HL7 v2.x and v3 message structures, including ADT, ORU, ORM, MDM, and SIU messages.
- Support the design and validation of HL7 FHIR resources, bundles, and related integration workflows.
- Collaborate with interface engine engineers, application teams, and vendors to configure and validate integration endpoints.
- Develop and execute end-to-end unit, system, integration, and regression test scripts.
- Manage multiple interface workstreams concurrently across clinical domains while tracking issues and defects through resolution using Jira and/or Azure DevOps.
- Analyze interface logs, message failures, rejection scenarios, and queue bottlenecks to identify and resolve integration issues.
- Perform root-cause analysis and support issue resolution during implementation, go-live, and stabilization activities.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation related to interface configurations, mappings, testing, defects, and resolutions.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while coordinating effectively with technical and clinical stakeholders in a high-volume project environment.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- 5+ years of hands-on healthcare integration experience involving hospital information systems (HIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), laboratory systems, radiology systems, or other clinical applications.
- In-depth knowledge of HL7 v2.x messaging standards, including message structures, segment definitions, and trigger events.
- Hands-on experience developing integration specifications, data mappings, transformation logic, and Interface Control Documents.
- Experience configuring, testing, validating, or troubleshooting interfaces between healthcare applications.
- Familiarity with healthcare integration platforms such as Orion Rhapsody, Mirth Connect/NextGen, InterSystems HealthShare/Ensemble, Cloverleaf, or comparable interface engine technologies.
- Experience analyzing interface logs, message rejections, data exchange issues, and integration defects.
- Experience developing and executing unit, system, integration, and regression testing for interfaces.
- Experience working with defect and delivery tracking tools such as Jira and/or Azure DevOps.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple concurrent integration workstreams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
