Position: Medical Transcriptionist Full-Time In Clinic *NOT REMOTE*

Status: Full-time, Maternity Leave Term 1-year

Hours of Work: 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday - Friday

Reports to: Operations Supervisor

Union: MGEU

Position Summary:

Medical transcriptionists transcribe and edit dictation by various multi-specialty Physicians and other health care providers for surgical proceedings, health-related reports and other medical documentation.

Qualifications and Skills:

Typing speed 60+ WPM Required ** Typing test conducted during interview**

Experience with Accuro/EMR and Word preferred

Experience in specific Transcription software (Winscribe or equivalent) preferred

Strong English grammar and comprehension

Computer literacy with strong MS Word skills

Experience using specialty specific Medical Terminology

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs medical transcription duties (e.g., client histories, physicals, operative reports, chart notes)

Perform other transcription duties (e.g., letters, memos, administrative reports, follow-up and appointment letters)

Research terminology to ensure accuracy

Proofread work for typographical and grammatical errors

Edit transcripts for missing or incorrect content and formatting

Holding all third-party (patient) information in the strictest confidentiality

Physical Requirements:

Physical health to meet the requirements of the position

Periods of prolonged use of computer monitor, keyboard, headphones/earphones, foot pedal

Long periods of sitting

Assets:

Experience in a high-volume multi-specialty office environment
