Service Support Technician

Vantage Endoscopy and AMT Surgical are leading sales focused distribution organizations specializing in high tech niche diagnostic and therapeutic medical products focused on Endoscopy/GI Suite, GI Clinics and Hospital Operating Rooms across Canada.

We are a high-energy, fast-growing company with a fun and dynamic philosophy and corporate culture. As part of our full-service offering, our Service Center performs all aspects of equipment repairs and maintenances, and as we grow, we are looking to add an upbeat, energetic, professional individual to join our dynamic Service team to connect our customers, our Service team and our Commercial teams

What you’ll do:

This role is responsible for a variety of functions that include, but are not limited to:

  • Create and close work orders for returned demo and loaner units.
  • Inspect, clean, disinfect, decontaminate, sterilize, and reprocess surgical and medical devices in accordance with established procedures and infection prevention standards.
  • Conduct quality control inspections and repair assessments on surgical and medical devices.
  • Operate and maintain reprocessing and sterilization equipment while adhering to quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate service, repair, and reprocessing records and documentation.
  • Replenish Service Technicians' workbenches with required consumables and supplies.
  • Order, receive, organize, and maintain Service Center inventory, consumables, and supplies.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, dismantling, assembly, and preparation of demo equipment, accessories, and parts.
  • Safely handle cleaning agents, detergents, disinfectants, and other chemicals used in the reprocessing and servicing of equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively with Service, Commercial, and Customer-facing teams to support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all workplace health and safety, infection control, and company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

The successful individual will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Min High School, preference College Diploma
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a Service Center-related position is a definite asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly professional individual with a positive attitude and strong customer service skills.
  • Strong work ethic, reliable and self-motivated, able to work independently yet enjoys collaborating with team members and other departments.
  • Excellent verbal and written business level communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to details, meticulous by nature, highly organized and able to prioritize multiple ‘urgent’ requests as is the nature of the Service industry.
  • Must be able to multi-task and manage and meet tight service-related timelines.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook, Teams.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft AX, Spire and SharePoint would be an asset but can train as necessary.

Working Conditions:

  • Lifting or moving up to 40 lbs. may be required.
  • Work is performed in a service and reprocessing environment that is fast-paced and team-oriented.
  • Regular exposure to cleaning agents, detergents, disinfectants, and other chemicals used in the cleaning, reprocessing, and sterilization of equipment.
  • Exposure to chemical odors, heat, moisture, and noise associated with reprocessing and sterilization equipment may occur.
  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and handling of equipment may be required.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn as required. PPE may include gloves, safety glasses, face shields, masks, gowns, and other protective equipment necessary to perform duties safely.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required. (less than 5%)
  • Office and Laboratory (Service Center, Hospitals) environment.
  • Driving to customers’ locations (healthcare customers’ facilities).
  • Ability to perform the essential visual requirements of the position, including close-up inspection and, where required, accurate color differentiation.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical manuals, work instructions, and other job-related documentation. Accommodation is available throughout the recruitment process and employment in accordance with applicable legislation.

Health & Safety Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to support and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements, including:

  • Maintaining safe systems of work for manual handling, vehicle movements, storage, and equipment use (if applicable).
  • Reporting incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and assisting with investigations.
  • Follow site rules, safe working procedures, and use PPE as required.
