About the Role

We are looking for a high-energy, professional Medical Office Assistant / Receptionist to join our busy Family Physician’s practice. This is a hybrid role that serves as the heartbeat of our clinic. You will be responsible for providing a seamless front-desk experience while supporting our clinical operations.

Key Responsibilities

Front-End Operations:

  • Patient Coordination: Welcome patients with a professional demeanor, perform necessary pre-screening, vital signs and manage check-in/out.
  • Communications: Manage multi-line phones, schedule/confirm appointments, and complete patient call-backs efficiently.
  • Financials: Process payments for non-Alberta Health Care visits and uninsured services.
  • Clinic Flow: Maintain a calm, courteous environment during peak hours.

Administrative & Clinical Support:

  • EMR Management: Work within patient charts to ensure all tasks, indexing, and charting are documented with 100% accuracy.
  • Office Maintenance: Manage faxing, document indexing, and ordering of medical/office supplies.
  • Clinical Variety: Support a diverse range of services, including basic vital signs checks.
  • Team Support: Perform other administrative tasks as assigned to ensure clinic efficiency.
  • Assist physicians and contribute to smooth daily operations
  • Maintain and update Electronic medical record
  • Maintain strict privacy and patient confidentiality

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 year experience in a medical office setting is required.
  • Technical Skills: Previous experience with Medical EMRs is a significant asset and will be prioritized.
  • Education: MOA Certification is preferred but not required for candidates with strong equivalent experience.
  • Core Competencies: * Proven ability to multitask and remain professional under pressure.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt efficiently in a changing environment; availability for a mix of weekday and weekend shifts is required.
