Dental Clinic Manager

Location: Edmonton, AB | Clinic: One67 Dental | Employment: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role
One67 Dental is a well-established family practice located in North Edmonton. We are seeking a highly experienced Dental Clinic Manager to lead our team and ensure smooth, efficient, and patient-focused operations. This is a leadership role that requires a balance of hands-on administrative expertise and strategic management skills to support our dentist, hygienists, and team members in delivering exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of clinical and administrative staff to achieve operational excellence.
  • Create and implement training and onboarding programs for new hires.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable culture with strong communication and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings, performance reviews, and provide ongoing feedback.

Operations & Administration

  • Oversee daily front-desk and back-office operations, ensuring all patient interactions meet a high standard of care.
  • Implement systems, policies, and processes to improve workflow, scheduling, and patient experience.
  • Manage AR, billing, and insurance claims, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up on outstanding balances.
  • Oversee recall systems, patient reactivation campaigns, and chair utilization for maximum efficiency.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations, infection control protocols, and privacy standards.

Financial & Business Management

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports (production, collections, AR, expenses).
  • Track and manage budgets, payroll, and inventory, including vendor relations and supply ordering.
  • Partner with ownership and dentists to identify and implement revenue growth opportunities.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure targets are met and develop action plans when they are not.

Technology & Systems

  • Ensure effective use of dental practice software (Dentrix, Recall Max, or equivalent).
  • Train and support staff in using digital systems for scheduling, billing, treatment planning, and reporting.
  • Stay current on new technologies and recommend upgrades that improve efficiency and patient experience.

Patient Experience & Service

  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for patient concerns and complaints, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Oversee scheduling to reduce wait times, maximize provider efficiency, and enhance patient flow.
  • Lead initiatives to strengthen patient loyalty and drive new patient growth through excellent service delivery.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Dental Clinic Manager.
  • Completion of a Dental Administration Program/Certificate or equivalent training (asset).
  • Strong proficiency with dental practice management software (Dentrix, Recall Max, or similar).
  • Demonstrated expertise in insurance billing, AR management, and reporting.
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, and lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong financial acumen: budgeting, KPI tracking, cost control, and business planning.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with staff, doctors, and patients.
  • Skilled in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable, able to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Customer service mindset with a focus on creating an outstanding patient experience.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, growing organization and contribute to continuous improvement.
