Full job description

KAN Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced, full-time Medical Office Assistant on behalf of our client, a private medical office located in West Kelowna, BC.

As the sole MOA, the successful candidate will support a team of healthcare providers and play an important role in ensuring the office operates smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who is professional, compassionate, highly organized, and confident working independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and provide professional, compassionate service.
  • Answer telephone calls, emails, and patient inquiries.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate healthcare providers’ schedules.
  • Prepare patient charts and examination rooms.
  • Take and record patients’ weight and blood pressure.
  • Process referrals, requisitions, and medical documentation.
  • Arrange and track appointments, investigations, and follow-ups.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using Accuro EMR.
  • Monitor and order medical and office supplies.
  • Support daily office operations and identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of Medical Office Assistant experience.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Accuro EMR is essential.
  • MOA certificate or diploma is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage competing priorities.
  • Professional, compassionate, and committed to protecting patient confidentiality.
