Full job description

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support pharmacists in day-to-day dispensing activities, patient interactions, and overall pharmacy operations. This role is well suited for someone with prior pharmacy or hospital experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of medical terminology are essential. The Pharmacy Assistant plays a key role in ensuring accurate medication distribution and delivering excellent patient care.

Availability Requirement:
Candidates must be able to work a minimum of 24 hours per week, including at least three weekdays and at least two Saturdays per month. Preference will be given to applicants who can accommodate a flexible work schedule to support pharmacy operations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
  • Enter prescription data into pharmacy systems with a high level of accuracy
  • Manage inventory, including restocking shelves and ensuring proper storage of medications
  • Provide courteous and professional patient service, including answering general questions under pharmacist supervision
  • Process insurance claims and assist with billing procedures as required
  • Label, package, and organize medications for dispensing
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and workflow efficiency within the pharmacy
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulatory standards related to medication handling and patient confidentiality
