Your Role:

As Lead Pharmacy Technician , you will provide leadership within the dispensary under the direction of the Pharmacist Manager, while also performing duties as a Pharmacy Assistant II or Registered Pharmacy Technician. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing guidance and support to Pharmacy Assistants and Clerks, ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations and store procedures.
  • Assisting the Pharmacist Manager with administrative tasks such as scheduling, narcotic counts, and month-end reporting.
  • Leading special projects, including audit preparation and staff training for home office initiatives.
  • Processing and preparing prescriptions accurately and efficiently, including prescription claims adjudication.
  • Managing compliance packaging, remote distribution, and medical supplies and equipment services.
  • Maintaining accurate patient profiles, managing inventory, and ensuring dispensary cleanliness and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Delivering excellent customer service and supporting pharmacy growth initiatives such as medication reviews and vaccination clinics.

Work Hours:
  • Pharmacy hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Saturday & Sunday, 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a high-volume pharmacy dispensary (previous NWC Pharmacy experience an asset).
  • Formal training or certification as a Pharmacy Assistant OR registration with the appropriate provincial College as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.
  • Strong customer service skills with attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy software programs, including prescription entry and inventory management (experience with Kroll is an asset).
  • Thorough knowledge of NIHB Pharmacy Provider guidelines, including claims processing for prior approvals, MS&E, and audit requirements.
  • Familiarity with applicable federal and provincial territorial pharmacy regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, guide direct reports, and work under minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills and an approachable leadership style.
  • Respectful of diversity and cultural differences.
