Responsibilities


General mechanical/electrical work primarily on Community Shuttle and or any other vehicle not specified as commercial transport.


Work includes maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostic repair and overhaul of vehicles and their components.

Qualifications


Have successfully completed a four year apprenticeship as an automotive service technician.


Holds a trades qualification certificate with inter-provincial Red Seal.


Has current automotive industry troubleshooting and repair experience in both automotive diesel driveability and or electrical diagnosis.


Preference will be given to applicants with a CVIP Certification.


An up-to-date driving abstract must accompany application (maximum of 6 points in the past 3 years, no impaired convictions, roadside suspensions or prohibitions in the past 5 years.)


Will be required to undergo a comprehensive medical examination.

Other Information


Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

Work Schedule


37.5 hours per week.

This position works predominately on-site.

Rate of Pay


Wage: $59.69 per hour


The Total Compensation Package includes Extended Health, Dental, Transit Pass and enrollment in the Public Service Pension Plan.
