Marine Port Agent: Job Description

We are looking for candidates that thrive in a fast-paced environment, has attention to detail and enjoys working independently and in team settings.

The main duties of a marine agent are overseeing and coordinating all activities for vessels.
This includes all necessaries arrangements and coordination prior to vessels’ arrival and after vessels’ departure to ensure a smooth and effective port call.

- Vessel operations attendance including communication with owners, charterers and other parties concerned of all activities related to vessel and its operation.

- Coordinate and update all parties concerned with vessel movement including principals/customers, Port Authority, and appropriate government authorities.

- Respond to all customer inquiries concerning their vessels.

- Prepare forms and documentation required by the agency and government authorities.

- Work with principals, terminal operators, stevedores, port authorities and government officials to ensure safe and efficient practices and methods.

- Coordinate crew changes and spare parts delivery including transportation arrangements, hotel reservations and immigration clearance.

- Procure operation and administrative services as required for marine vessels including coordinating pilots, tugs, and linesmen and berthing assignments for vessels.

- Exercise high quality vendor service management and cost control, prepare proforma and final disbursement accounts.

- Perform other related duties at the discretion of Operations Manager.

- Act as agent on-duty for vessel related matters after regular business hours/weekends/holidays
