Full job description

LeeWay Marine is the leading marine services company in Atlantic Canada, operating fully crewed vessels to support all ocean going sectors. Our company is built on the fundamental principle that knowledge drives success.

We are currently accepting resumes for experienced and qualified marine engineers (4th class), for a two week contract period starting September 22nd

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor performance, maintenance and repair of all machinery and electrical equipment
  • Carry out refueling procedures at various ports of call
  • Ensure that proper engine room watchkeeping arrangements are in place
  • Ensure that the vessel’s maintenance program is implemented and maintained
  • Ensure that adequate engine room stores, supplies and spare parts are available on board for the intended voyage
  • Utilize software to track and report on daily activities

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid 4th class marine engineer CoC (2nd class marine engineers welcome to apply)
  • STCW Basic Safety
  • STCW Survival Craft
  • STCW Advanced Firefighting
  • Valid Basic or Advanced Marine First Aid Certificate
  • Valid and Unlimited Transport Canada Marine Medical
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate software applications relevant to position
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Proven track record of relevant offshore experience in the marine sector
  • Experience with Diesel Electric considered an asset
  • Experience with complex electrical systems considered an asset
  • French fluency considered an asset
