We are a branded full service mid-size Hotel in Manitoba

We are looking for an experienced, organized, and passionate Kitchen Manager to lead our Back-of-House (BOH) team. In this role, you will be the heartbeat of our kitchen—ensuring culinary excellence, maintaining strict food safety standards, and managing day-to-day kitchen operations.

The ideal candidate is a natural leader who can keep their cool during a busy rush, optimize food costs, and mentor a talented team of lines cooks, preps, and dishwashers.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Hire, train, schedule, and manage all BOH staff. Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative kitchen culture.

Operations & Quality Control: Oversee daily food preparation and execution, ensuring every dish meets our standards for taste, presentation, and consistency.

Financial Management: Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food and labor costs to meet budget targets.

Health & Safety: Maintain impeccable cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. Ensure full compliance with all local health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Menu Collaboration: Work closely with the [Head Chef/General Manager] to implement new menu items, daily specials, and recipe standardization.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Supervisor in a high-volume restaurant.

Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team.

Technical Skills: Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of inventory management, food costing, and labor scheduling.

Certifications: Food Safety Manager certification (e.g., ServSafe) is highly preferred.

Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.

Flexibility: Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
