Your Opportunity:

As a Fleet Supervisor, you will provide leadership and operational oversight for a provincial team responsible for ensuring ambulances, medical equipment, and critical supplies are available, safe, and ready to support Emergency Medical Services (EMS) operations across Alberta. This role supports operational readiness through the coordination of personnel, resources, inventory, equipment, and logistics services essential to frontline patient care. Reporting to the Provincial Fleet Maintenance Manager, you will supervise and support VESST and Fleet Coordinator staff, oversee daily operations, and promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. You will lead workforce planning, performance management, training, quality assurance, and program standardization while ensuring services are delivered efficiently and consistently across the province. The Fleet Supervisor works closely with frontline operations, provincial leadership, vendors, Contracting, Procurement and Supply Management (CPSM), Clinical Engineering, Fleet Services, and other stakeholders to support service delivery objectives. You will monitor performance indicators, analyze operational needs, contribute to policy and process development, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service delivery. As a key member of the EMS Assets portfolio, you will support emergency preparedness, operational planning, and provincial standards while helping ensure the delivery of safe, reliable, and high-quality patient care across Alberta. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Description:

The Fleet Supervisor reports to the EMS Fleet Maintenance Manager and is responsible for the leadership, supervision, and development of Vehicle Equipment Supply Service Technicians and related staff across Alberta. The Supervisor leads recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and employee development while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence. This position ensures provincial standardization of VESST operations, inventory management practices, quality assurance activities, and service delivery processes that support frontline EMS operations. The Supervisor monitors program performance, tracks key performance indicators, and oversees data collection and reporting to support operational decision-making and continuous improvement. Working closely with EMS Operations, Fleet Services, Clinical Engineering, Pharmacy, Contracting, Procurement and Supply Management, and external vendors, the Supervisor develops collaborative relationships that support the acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and management of ambulances, medical equipment, and critical supplies. The role contributes to policy, procedure, and process development and supports provincial initiatives that enhance service delivery and operational readiness. Working within a provincial team, you will contribute to the success of this pilot project as we expand our VESST program to support operational readiness through program coordination, logistics planning, inventory oversight, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives across the province.
