Arbor Memorial Inc. is looking for a Laborer to join our team in Lake Loon, NS!

As a Laborer, you will be responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of our property. This includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:

• Perform routine work to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our facilities, grounds and buildings.
• Valid Driver's License (preferred) but willing to hire without for $18 hourly start + 4% Vac pay per hour.
• Perform heavy equipment operation (will train) (with driver's license).
• Responsible for the upkeep of all grounds and buildings including Grass care. Perform general cleaning of grounds and buildings.
• Assist with the maintenance of property such as mowing with ride-on, push mower, weed whipper, garden bed care, (edging, weeding mulching), customer orientated tasks on memorial sites.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are currently looking to hire seasonal grounds worker to complement our Team for the summer and fall seasons until the end of October at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. The work setting is a cemetery. Hours are Mon-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm (40 hours per week); We offer competitive rates.

This Arbor team consists of motivated individuals, who care about what they are doing in terms of providing the best appearance possible and customer satisfaction; work terms are renewed based on work performance and Seasonal duty needs yearly.

Title: Grounds maintenance worker (Seasonal Now until end of Oct term, Days, 8am-430pm - Monday - Friday)

Terms of Employment:

Seasonal, Full Time, Week Days; overtime if needed on weekends

Hourly rate:

$20.75(+ 4%) hourly rate (or based on experience).

position offers 40.00 Hours per week (50 cent raise every 500 hours worked based on performance);

Anticipated Start Date:

Once recruiting process is completed (complete interview, reference checks).

Skill Requirements:

Education:

Grade 12 or Equivalent

Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.):

Not needed; but any certifications in the landscaping, horticulture skills, welding, mechanics, machinery operation fields are considered an asset.

Specific Skills:

Assist with landscape constructions, Weed, prune and trim trees and plants, Cut grass, Rake/ collect refuse, Remove litter and garbage, Cart and spread topsoil and other materials, Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees, Water lawns/gardens, Repair and maintain equipment, installation of flat markers which requires some heavy lifting.

Own Tools/Equipment:

Steel-toed safety boots, Work pants – All other PPE provided.
