Full job description
Freight Handling Associate (Temp-to-Perm Opportunities)
Location: Hamilton, ON (Mount-Hope)
Shifts: PM Shift - AM shifts available
Salary: Competitive pay with performance bonuses and opportunities for growth
Ready for a fast-paced, dynamic job where no two days are the same We're looking for Freight Handling Associates to join our team and help keep things moving at a major logistics hub that serves all of Canada! This is a hands-on role where you'll be part of a high-energy team, responsible for sorting, loading, and unloading freight to meet delivery schedules. This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity where you’ll gain skills in a fully automated environment and have the potential to transition into permanent roles with fantastic benefits and growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Sort and separate freight by destination, weight, size, and shape to ensure it’s ready for timely delivery.
Unload freight from curbside trucks onto conveyors and load it back into trucks.
Move freight from conveyors or chutes for load-out, and load into linehaul trucks or trailers.
Preload mail and packages into delivery vehicles.
Manually transfer bulk or non-conveyable items when needed.
Some team members are promoted to handle pre-load tasks, which require quick thinking and attention to detail (perfect for those who love a challenge!).
Shift duties can change, meaning you'll be unloading, loading, and assisting in different areas throughout the day, keeping you engaged and moving.
You’ll be working indoors, so no weather worries, just a safe, structured environment.
Skills and Experience:
Physical Stamina: This is a manual labor role where you’ll be using pump trucks and manual jiggers.
Attention to Detail: Ability to read addresses and handle freight quickly and efficiently.
Teamwork: You’ll be working closely with colleagues—supporting each other, keeping things fun, and making sure everything gets done on time.
Adaptability: The tasks can change throughout your shift, so you’ll need to be comfortable moving between various roles in different locations.
Experience: Previous experience with loading, unloading, and working with freight is helpful but not necessary. We provide full training to ensure your success.
If you're looking for an active role where you can learn new skills, work in a supportive, team-oriented environment, and take advantage of immediate opportunities with long-term career potential, this is the place for you—we can’t wait to meet you!
