About Sunder Building Supplies

Sunder Building Supplies is a growing building-materials supplier serving contractors, builders, renovation companies, and homeowners throughout Calgary and surrounding areas. We supply lumber, drywall, insulation, roofing materials, siding, tools, and other construction products.

We are looking for a friendly, organized, and dependable Front Desk Receptionist to provide excellent customer service and help support our daily office and sales operations.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers, suppliers, drivers, and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate department.
  • Respond to customer emails and general product inquiries.
  • Assist customers with basic information regarding products, pricing, availability, and quote requests.
  • Collect customer information and forward detailed quote requests to the sales or estimating team.
  • Process basic customer orders, payments, invoices, and receipts.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and update information in the company system.
  • Schedule appointments, deliveries, meetings, and customer follow-ups.
  • Receive and organize incoming mail, invoices, purchase orders, and other documents.
  • Communicate with the sales team, warehouse staff, accounting department, and management.
  • Keep the reception and front-office areas clean, organized, and presentable.
  • Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, inventory paperwork, and other administrative duties.
  • Provide general office support as required.

Qualifications

  • Previous reception, customer service, retail, or administrative experience is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Friendly, professional, and comfortable speaking with customers by phone and in person.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy work environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and email.
  • Experience with invoicing, point-of-sale systems, or accounting software is an asset.
  • Knowledge of lumber, construction materials, or the building-supplies industry is an asset but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
