Part/Shop Coordinator

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year

About the Role

Regional Crane Rentals Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Part/Shop Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of our service shop and parts inventory, which specializes in repairs and maintenance for company-owned heavy trucks and cranes. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, quick learning and an understanding of the heavy truck/crane industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shop Operations: Oversee daily shop activities and ensure efficient and timely service repairs.
  • Work Order Management: Maintain and initiate work orders for repairs and track job progress.
  • Parts Input and Output – Maintain and update the parts inventory for the internal repair department. Sign in new parts into the system and sign out parts used.
  • Record-Keeping: Use company systems to maintain accurate service and compliance records.
  • Parts Management: Source, purchase, and return parts as needed, analyzing options and securing the best deals.
  • Vendor & Manufacturer Relations: Communicate and maintain positive relationships with manufacturers and parts suppliers.
  • Communication: Utilize a company-provided cell phone and maintain communication with shop staff.
  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain an organized work environment, ensuring compliance with all legislative safety requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Industry Experience: Prior experience in the heavy truck and crane industry is an asset.
  • Management Experience: 2-5 years of leadership experience in a service shop environment is encouraged.
  • Technical & Parts Knowledge: Strong understanding of parts outsourcing and service operations.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to assess situations, make informed decisions, and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Professional, reliable, and able to work with diverse personalities.
  • Fast-Paced Adaptability: Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
  • Tech-Savvy: Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Organizational Excellence: Strong time-management and prioritization skills.
  • Driver’s License: Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
