Full job description

Join Avalon Health Clinic as a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician (Physiatrist) and help build a modern outpatient rehabilitation practice in a newly built, turnkey medical facility in Saanich, Greater Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Designed from the ground up with physicians in mind, Avalon combines advanced technology, a fully integrated electronic medical record, centralized billing, dedicated administrative and MOA support, flexible scheduling, thoughtfully designed clinical space, and integrated allied health and rehabilitation services to create an efficient, patient-focused practice environment. Our focus is on reducing administrative burden so physicians can spend more time providing thoughtful consultative and longitudinal care for patients navigating musculoskeletal, neurological, pain-related, post-surgical, brain injury and concussion, ICU recovery, and complex functional rehabilitation needs.

Avalon is being developed as an integrated centre where physiatrists work alongside family physicians, nurse practitioners, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, kinesiologists, counsellors, rehabilitation clinicians, and other allied health professionals within coordinated clinical pathways. Physiatrists benefit from one connected chart and care plan, interdisciplinary case discussions, streamlined referral relationships, access to integrated rehabilitation resources, and centralized operational infrastructure. This team model supports return-to-function, mobility, activity participation, recovery planning, quality-of-life outcomes, and coordinated support for patients and families navigating complex recovery journeys. This position is based exclusively in our outpatient clinic and is not affiliated with the Health Authority. As such, hospital privileges are not included with this role.

This is an opportunity to join a founding, forward-thinking clinic committed to innovation, interdisciplinary rehabilitation, collegiality, and improving access to specialist rehabilitation care on Vancouver Island. Saanich and Greater Victoria offer an exceptional coastal setting with the amenities of the British Columbia capital region, vibrant neighbourhoods, strong community services, excellent access to parks, trails, oceanfront, restaurants, arts, culture, schools, and year-round outdoor recreation. Avalon provides the technology, infrastructure, clinical support, and professional autonomy to help physicians build a sustainable consultative, longitudinal, procedural, or focused rehabilitation practice while enjoying the quality of life that comes with living and working in Greater Victoria.

Overhead: 25%

Start Date

Clinic projected to open in October 2026
