Description

Our Food Runner/Expediter is responsible for ensuring that food orders are accurately prepared, organized, and delivered promptly to guests. This role involves reading tickets/chits, coordinating with kitchen staff, and ensuring that food is presented before it reaches the table. Our Food Runner/Expediter plays a vital role in maintaining smooth kitchen operations and delivering a positive guest experience by ensuring the timely delivery of hot and fresh food.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver food from the kitchen to guest tables in an orderly and timely manner.
• Read and organize food orders accurately from the kitchen ticket system.
• Ensure that each ticket is properly completed, verifying that all items are prepared according to order details.
• Ensure that all food meets the restaurant's quality standards for presentation.
• Alert kitchen staff to any delays in food delivery or issues with specific orders.
• Maintain awareness of dietary restrictions, food allergies, or specific guest requests, ensuring proper execution.
• Keep the expo area clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies such as plates, utensils, and condiments.
• Assist other team members when necessary to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
• Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude while working with the front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including liquor laws, health codes, and operational standards.
• Potential to move into a hosting position.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
• Professional in appearance and demeanour for a fine-dining restaurant.
• ProServe Certified or willingness to obtain.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
• Fluent in English.
• Available to work Monday - Friday, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Maintain professionalism, cleanliness, and personal hygiene at all times.
• A genuine passion for providing excellent customer service.
