We are looking for an experienced Grocery Lead to join us at our Richmond location in Lansdowne Centre! The Grocery Lead oversees all aspects of the Grocery department, from managing product inventory and quality, to driving sales and customer satisfaction. As a key decision-maker and point of contact with Head Office, the Grocery Lead is responsible for forecasting, ordering, stocking, and merchandising. The ideal candidate is excellent at working independently and being hands on.

Key Responsibilities

Department Operations

  • Oversee the daily operations of the department, keeping shelves fully stocked, well-organized, and visually appealing to customers.
  • Stock displays and replenish shelves throughout the day ensuring proper stock rotation.
  • Monitor freshness and quality of products, both in storage and on the floor.
  • Verify that products are properly labeled with accurate pricing and signage, including promotional and seasonal items.
  • Provide excellent customer service by actively assisting customers, resolving complaints, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Resolve escalated customer inquiries and offer solutions to any issues that may arise.

Inventory Management & Sales Strategization

  • Lead the ordering and receiving of grocery products, verifying quantities and inspecting product quality upon arrival.
  • Verify discrepancies between vendor invoices, purchase orders, and receiving records. Actively follow up with vendors to secure credit notes, billing adjustments, and claims for short shipments or damaged goods.
  • Organize newly arrived products in storage by following proper handling and storage methods.
  • Manage inventory levels using computer systems, ensuring that stock levels meet customer demand while minimizing waste and shrinkage.
  • Maintain product details, SKUs, and pricing up to date in the POS system to ensure billing accuracy and seamless shelf-to-register pricing alignment.
  • Collaborate with Grocery Buyers to develop sales strategies, promotions, and marketing initiatives that drive sales and product awareness.
  • Analyze sales reports and market trends to optimize product assortment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in grocery retail in a senior or managerial role.
  • Excellent ability to work independently, communicate, and problem solve.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, including grocery handling, storage, and quality control processes.
  • A customer-oriented mindset with the ability to provide excellent service.
  • Strong organizational skills needed to perform administrative tasks and maintain records.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workplace.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic by taking initiative and staying committed to company goals.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Verbal proficiency in Chinese is preferred.

Pay: $47,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
