Full job description

Partners in Employment provides supported employment services to individuals who have a goal of employment and experience disability. We focus on recognizing and building upon individual employment strengths and providing support that will enhance employability. The right supports offered at the right time, and the right employment opportunity, equate to successful long-term employment.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversee delivery of intakes, employment services and skills training, and employment opportunities.
  • Ensure the program meets its objectives of assisting 70 youth, including Indigenous youth, youth with disabilities, racialized youth, 2SLGBTQI+ youth, and newcomer youth.
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment activities in collaboration with social and mental health agencies, community organizations, and through social media.
  • Perform client needs assessments to identify individual barriers and develop personalized action plans.
  • Coordinate and deliver pre-employment workshops focusing on career planning, job search techniques, resume writing, interview preparation, and other employment-oriented skills.
  • Facilitate employment skills training sessions covering personal management, interpersonal relations, communication, time management, and computer use.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers for quality work experience and employment opportunities for clients.
  • Organize industry events and information sessions to promote the benefits of hiring youth facing barriers.
  • Offer access to mental health services, transportation, and living expenses.
  • Maintain records of client progress and outcomes, including preparation and submission of quarterly and annual reports.
  • Conduct follow-up assessments to monitor long-term success of clients in the labor market.


Qualifications:

  • Degree in social work, human services, education, occupational therapy or a related field.
  • Rehabilitation Worker Certificate or two years supported employment experience or related experience.
  • Experience and knowledge in the supported employment sector and practices, and with employer engagement and how they benefit job seekers and businesses is an asset.
  • Experience coordinating projects and community engagement.
  • Understanding of the labour market, sales techniques, fundamental business practices, recruitment practices and job development strategies.
  • Knowledge of Saskatchewan Labour Standards, Occupational Health and Safety Standards, and labour-related regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated abilities in communicating to a broad audience using a variety of means.
  • Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
