Full job description

Seasonal Quality Control Technicians

Maple Leaf Construction Ltd. is currently seeking Seasonal Quality Control Technicians to join our team. Under the supervision of the QC Manager, technicians will perform a wide variety of tests related primarily to road construction materials, including aggregates, concrete, and asphalt products.

Successful candidates will work closely with other QC Technicians and field crews to support project operations throughout the construction season.

Daily travel to job sites is required.

Key Responsibilities

As a Quality Control Technician, your duties will include:

  • Performing on-site testing and sample collection
  • Conducting distribution checks for asphalt and base operations
  • Performing concrete plastic and strength testing
  • Collecting data and entering results into computerized systems
  • Travelling daily to various job sites
  • Conducting laboratory testing on construction materials

Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous construction or quality control experience is considered an asset

Requirements

  • Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Access to a reliable vehicle for work travel
  • Comfortable travelling and working outside of Winnipeg
  • Ability to work long hours outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Willingness to work overtime, including evenings and weekends when required
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Physically capable of lifting to 30 kg
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Mechanical knowledge is considered an asset
