Quality Assurance Supervisor – Food & Beverage Processing

About Us

Yoho Fine Water Inc. is a Canadian producer of natural alkaline spring water, operating a modern bottling facility in Barrie, Ontario. We produce our own brands while also providing private-label and co-packing services.

We are looking for a hands-on Quality Assurance Supervisor to oversee our quality assurance and food safety programs and help ensure our products consistently meet company, customer, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily quality assurance activities and conduct routine quality inspections throughout the production process.
  • Perform and oversee microbiological and water quality testing, including the collection of finished product, tanker, holding tank, and retention samples.
  • Review QA shift reports, production checklists, testing results, and quality records, ensuring any issues are investigated and corrective actions are completed.
  • Inspect and approve finished products prior to shipment, including production floor inspections and product quality checks.
  • Coordinate sample collection and shipments to external laboratories for required testing.
  • Maintain laboratory supplies, equipment, testing materials, records, and inventory.
  • Monitor sanitation and cleaning activities, including CIP processes, sanitation solutions, cleaning records, and verification testing.
  • Conduct facility inspections and verify compliance with sanitation and maintenance schedules.
  • Coordinate required periodic testing, including chemical, microbiological, bromate/bromide, and environmental testing.
  • Develop, review, update, and maintain QA procedures, SOPs, GMPs, HACCP documentation, and food safety programs.
  • Provide employee training on HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, food safety, sanitation, and quality requirements.
  • Inspect incoming raw materials and work with suppliers to address quality or compliance concerns.
  • Investigate quality issues, deviations, non-conformances, and customer complaints, and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Maintain accurate QA documentation and ensure records are properly completed, organized, and maintained.
  • Work closely with Production, Operations, and Maintenance to promote a strong culture of food safety and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
  • Perform other quality assurance and operational duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in food or beverage manufacturing/processing, preferably in a quality assurance or food safety role.
  • Post-secondary education in Food Science, Quality Assurance, Microbiology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, food safety programs, sanitation, and quality assurance practices.
  • HACCP certification is preferred; candidates with relevant experience who are willing to obtain certification will also be considered.
  • Knowledge of applicable CFIA, FDA, and food safety regulatory requirements is an asset.
  • Experience with microbiological testing, sampling, quality inspections, and laboratory procedures is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Production, Maintenance, Operations, suppliers, and external laboratories.
  • Comfortable working in both laboratory and production-floor environments.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (40 hours/week)
Salary: $55,000 annually
