Materials Technologist

Chabot Enterprises Ltd. is an established Winnipeg Heavy Construction company specializing in sand and gravel supply and delivery; roadway construction and earthworks projects. We are able to offer year-round employment opportunities for qualified personnel. L. Chabot Enterprises Ltd is seeking materials technologist for the 2025 season for work in our CCIL certified Aggregate Test Lab and on heavy construction projects in Winnipeg and the capital region.

Locations of Work: Bird’s Hill/Springfield, Selkirk, Gull Lake/Alexander

Qualifications:

  • Previous materials technologist experience preferred: minimum 2 years
  • Reliable transportation and valid class 5 driver’s license required; no bus route access
  • Applicants must have: steel-toe CSA safety footwear, hard hat
  • Physically capable without restrictions to complete repetitive tasks
  • Able to work 8 hours or more per shift
  • Able to work in various conditions: lab, office, outdoors 8 hours or more
  • Mentally alert and professional

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sample and test aggregate materials in the CCIL certified lab for quality control
  • Prepare QC test result reports
  • Communicate with lab supervisor and aggregate supervisor to correct specification issues in the field
  • Prepare material QC reporting summary
  • Communicate as required with project PM, Supervisors
  • Follow all appropriate industry regulations and best practices
