Full job description

Job Summary

This position is approximately a 50/50 split of work in the field and in the office. The position is a 6-month term and can lead to permanent employment in a similar position.

Qualifications

  • poultry experience
  • have experience drawing blood, or willingness to learn
  • have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • be detail-oriented
  • adhere to biosecurity measures outlined by MCP
  • have a reliable vehicle and valid drivers’ license
  • be willing to travel within the province, generally within 200 km from Winnipeg.

Duties

  • environmental and blood sampling on broiler breeder farms
  • delivering samples to the lab and monitoring results
  • assisting with broiler breeder and broiler on-farm programs
  • assisting with live animal events
  • assisting with regulatory administration
  • working both independently and with team members.
