Full job description

PRIMARY DUTIES:

- Receive incoming steel, cast, and Pig Iron and inspect loads visually for nonconformance.

- Analyze spectrometer and record data in ERP system.

- Make charge recipe and adjust based on Spectrometer and Datacast result.

- Audit charging/pouring procedures and report to management.

- Determine alloy additions for product being made and ensure conformance.

- Prepare and analyze microstructure samples.

- Run and monitor heat treat oven and record data.

- Perform AFS sand testing everyday.

- Monitor and record Hartley sand controllers hourly.

- Prepare daily melting summary, monthly consumption, and daily inventory report.

- Willingness to be available for paid Overtime.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

- The plant runs 24/5, or 24 hours per day Monday through Friday, with 3 shifts per day. The Lab Techs rotate shifts every 2 weeks. Shifts are: A - 10:45 pm to 7:15 am, B - 6:45 am to 3:15 pm, and C - 2:45 pm to 11:15 pm. Production begins Sunday evenings with the A shift and runs continuously through to Friday concluding with the C shift.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
