Full job description
Killam Apartment REIT, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is one of Canada's largest residential real estate investment trusts, owning, operating, and developing a $5.3 billion portfolio of apartments and manufactured home communities. Killam's strategy to drive value and profitability focuses on three priorities: (1) increase earnings from the existing portfolio; (2) expand the portfolio and diversify geographically through accretive acquisitions, targeting newer properties and dispositions of non-core assets; and (3) develop high-quality properties in its core markets.
We are looking for a customer focused, energetic and customer-oriented Concierge to join our team at The Alexander on a full-time basis. This position will be Monday to Friday, 8 am-4 pm.
What you will do:
- Greet building tenants and guests in a friendly, professional manner;
- Attend to tenant and guest inquiries (ie: calling taxis, opening front door, assisting with packages, etc.);
- Taking tenant maintenance requests and inputting work orders;
- Responsible for coordinating guest suites and common room bookings;
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and professionalism;
- Ensure entrance parking area and driveway are maintained (no unauthorized parking);
- Maintain a neat and tidy working area, including main lobby and exterior entrances (entrance glass cleaning, litter pick up around immediate lobby areas);
- Ensure the lobby/entrance/common rooms are kept clean and tidy;
- Other duties as assigned.
Who you are:
- 2-3 years of well-developed customer service skills and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent oral communication skills, and strong listening skills to understand tenant needs;
- Able to work as part of a team;
- Must be flexible and able to work on a split shift schedule. Hours of work may be subject to change.
