Full job description

Role Summary

The Portfolio Associate supports Portfolio Managers in the execution, monitoring, and administration of client portfolios, with a particular focus on supporting the firm’s growing Managed Accounts program. This role works closely with Portfolio Managers, Program Supervisors, and the broader Investment Team.

The Portfolio Associate serves as a key operational and analytical bridge between investment strategy and client implementation, ensuring portfolios are maintained accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with client objectives, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Managed Accounts & Portfolio Support

o Support onboarding of new clients into the Managed Accounts program, ensuring all documentation and system setup is completed accurately and on time

o Support Portfolio Managers and Program Supervisors with portfolio implementation, rebalancing, and ongoing monitoring

o Assist with trade execution support, cash management, and reconciliation processes

o Monitor client portfolios for drift, concentration, liquidity, and suitability considerations, escalating issues as required

Reporting, Systems & Compliance

o Generate, review, and manage client quarterly portfolio reports

o Support the ongoing administration and effective use of the d1g1t portfolio management system

o Manage compliance and program management systems in line with established policies and procedures

o Maintain accurate portfolio records, documentation, and workflow tracking within portfolio management systems

Operational & Administrative Support

o Perform daily, weekly, and monthly investment operations activities in accordance with internal policies and procedures

o Schedule investment team meetings and prepare agendas, notes, and meeting minutes to meet internal governance requirements

o Maintain the Alternative Investments documentation and paperwork library

o Maintain and update investment tools used by the firm

Projects & Team Collaboration

o Coordinate with internal teams including Advisors, Operations, and Compliance to ensure seamless client service

o Provide project support for investment team initiatives and process improvements

o Support ad hoc projects and tasks as required by the Investment Team

Education & Experience

o Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Finance, Business, or a related discipline, or an acceptable combination of education and up to three years of relevant work experience

o 1–3 years of experience in investments, wealth management, portfolio administration, or a related field

o Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with portfolio management or reporting systems is an asset

o Progress toward CFA, CIM®, or a similar professional designation considered an asset
