This position is located in Kenora, Ontario. Relocation assistance is available to the successful candidate.

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Welfare Worker to join our team. This vital role involves supporting children and families through various social services, ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of children in need. The Child Welfare Worker will collaborate with community resources, provide advocacy, and deliver essential support to vulnerable populations. Candidates should have a strong commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of children and families, demonstrating empathy, patience, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct home visits and assessments to evaluate the safety and needs of children and families.
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans tailored to each child's circumstances.
  • Provide counseling, guidance, and support to children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, law enforcement, and community organizations to coordinate services.
  • Monitor progress and adjust intervention strategies as necessary to promote stability and growth.
  • Document case activities accurately and maintain confidential records in compliance with agency policies.
  • Advocate for children's rights and connect families with resources such as housing, healthcare, education, and mental health services.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and community outreach programs to enhance service delivery.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with children in social services or related fields is preferred.
  • SSW, BSW or related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—to effectively advocate for clients.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
  • Valid driver’s license. Occasional travel required.
  • Must be committed to ongoing professional development and staying informed about child welfare best practices.

Pay: $61,937.00-$92,220.00 per year
