Full job description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to support the day-to-day upkeep and smooth functioning of a private family home in the west-end of Toronto, ON (Near Jane & Bloor). This role is primarily focused on maintaining a clean, organized, and well-managed household, while providing thoughtful, hands-on support to enhance the overall living environment. The ideal candidate takes pride in creating orderly, welcoming spaces, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and is proactive in anticipating household needs. This is a dynamic role within a private home, requiring discretion, adaptability, and a service-oriented mindset.

Days/Hours of work: 40 hours/week

  • Monday-Friday From 9:00 AM To 5:00 PM

Responsibilities:

Household Maintenance & Upkeep

  • Maintain the overall cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the home to a high standard in between professional cleaning visits
  • Manage all household laundry, including washing, folding, ironing (minimal and not a dealbreaker), organizing clothing and linens, and coordinating dry cleaning
  • Ensure all rooms, storage areas, and closets remain tidy, functional, and well-organized, manage garbage and recycling routines.
  • Proactively identify and address areas requiring attention to maintain a well-kept home environment

Household Operations & Inventory

  • Monitor and maintain household inventory, ensuring all supplies (e.g., cleaning products, pantry staples, household essentials) are fully stocked and organized
  • Manage grocery shopping and household procurement as needed
  • Run occasional errands such as dry cleaning, returns, and general household needs
  • Support meal preparation (Help with unpacking groceries, food prep (cleaning, chopping etc.) and execution of some family dinners (parents will menu plan but need help with execution of the meal). Packing lunches for school.

Household Coordination & Support

  • Be on site for external service providers (e.g., cleaners, maintenance vendors) as needed to support the upkeep of the home
  • Assist with organizing the home and maintaining efficient household systems and routines
  • Provide support with seasonal or ad hoc household projects (e.g., organizing spaces, preparing for travel, supporting a move)

Events & Hosting Support

  • Assist with the preparation and execution of household gatherings, family events, and hosting needs

Additional Support

  • Provide light support related to the family dog (e.g., letting the dog out, ensuring supplies are stocked, coordinating with dog walker)
  • Provide occasional assistance with school pick-ups/drop-offs or other family-related errands as needed
  • Offer light, logistics support with two school-aged children when required, in a manner that aligns with household expectations

Requirements;

  • Prior experience in private household housekeeping or similar roles
  • Strong attention to detail with a high standard for cleanliness and organization
  • Proactive, reliable, and able to take initiative in supporting household needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proactive, clear, and professional
  • Ability to work independently, multitask effectively, and problem-solve with resourcefulness
  • Driver's Licence and own vehicle.


Salary
: $85,000 gross per year + Benefits + Transportation Allowance
