Kitchen Line Cook

Our company is looking for a highly motivated and experienced line cook to join our team. As a Line cook, you would be responsible to prepare and deliver to Dinner service, providing a high standard of fresh food in a busy hotel restaurant..

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take control of the breakfast/ lunch/ dinner service and ensure guests receive a truly delicious and memorable dinner.
  • Cooking and managing dinner service and assisting with closing duties.
  • Setting up and cleaning down the kitchen after the dinner rush.
  • Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic at all times.
  • Ensure all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.
  • Ensure all dishes are being prepared to the correct recipe and to the correct quantity.
  • Ensure the department is operated within the appropriate legislation and the appropriate records are maintained up-to-date.
  • Ensure any anticipated issues are communicated promptly to the Head Chef/kitchen supervisor.
  • Collect feedback from the guest during the service session and report to Executive chef on any complaints or issues.
  • Personal grooming and appearance standards are met regarding cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene.
  • Adhere to recipes and specifications to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met
  • Keeps overproduction and food waste to a minimum, ensures proper rotation, labeling, and storing of food
  • Maintain respectful work environment demonstrating integrity and teamwork
  • Keeps workstation clean and organized including fridge’s/freezers, countertops, and stove tops
  • Assist with producing menus and new dishes.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety policies and regulations.
  • Able to handle pressure calmly and professionally.
  • Attend training courses as and when required.
  • Carry out any other duties as required by management.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Must be:

  • Red Seal (Preferred)
  • Passionate about producing high quality food.
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience
  • Food Safe, Safe Check, Food Handler or equivalent certificate (preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to stand, push, pull, and kneel with ease
  • Must be available to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Passionate about producing high quality food
  • Able to tackle every task given to you with the highest levels of enthusiasm

Pay: $17.00-$18.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Calgary, AB T2E 7Y5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
