Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will manage the billing process for medical services, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance companies and patients. Your expertise will help streamline revenue cycle operations, improve cash flow, and enhance patient satisfaction. Duties

  • Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using electronic medical records systems and billing software
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to billing
  • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims promptly to ensure resolution
  • Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payments, adjustments, and correspondence
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify billing information and resolve discrepancies
  • Stay current with changing healthcare regulations, coding updates, and payer policies
  • Assist patients with billing inquiries and provide clear explanations of charges and payment options

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and billing software tools preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical documentation preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to communicate effectively with insurance companies, providers, and patients
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, coding standards (such as ICD-10, CPT), and payer requirements preferred
