JOB OVERVIEW

REPORTS TO: Senior Director, Resident Care & Service

The Regional, Wellness Specialist at Spring Living is responsible for leading and supporting the delivery of high-quality resident care services across all communities within Ontario. This role ensures that all care operations comply with regulatory standards, align with organizational values, and promote the safety, health, and well-being of residents. The Regional, Wellness Specialist plays a key leadership role by mentoring care teams, fostering a culture of excellence, and driving continuous improvement in care delivery. All duties are performed in the best interest of the residents and their families, and in accordance with Spring Living’s vision, mission and values statements.

The successful candidate will focus on developing a high-performing team by promoting a culture of accountability and innovation, consistent with the Spring Living values. They have responsibility for leading, coaching and inspiring the leadership teams to achieve and exceed KPI targets for their community.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Supervision:

  • Provide leadership and oversight to care teams across multiple communities.
  • Support, coach, and mentor nursing and care team members to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and offer development plans for care team members and managers.
  • Supports the hiring and onboarding of nursing leadership roles in all communities.

Resident Care Management:

  • Oversee the creation, implementation, and review of individualized resident care plans.
  • Ensure residents receive timely, compassionate, and appropriate care tailored to their health and wellness needs.
  • Promote and supervise wellness programs and initiatives that enhance residents’ quality of life.
  • Ensure accurate, thorough documentation of care activities and health records in accordance with professional standards.

Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all communities operate in compliance with provincial regulations (RHRA), health standards (Public Health), and organizational policies.
  • Conduct routine audits, inspections, and quality assurance checks to uphold care standards.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies during inspections and ensure corrective actions are implemented when required.
  • Oversee Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) measures, including daily practices and outbreak management protocols.

Operational Management:

  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement best practices across all communities.

Family and Community Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with local healthcare providers, community organizations, and other stakeholders.

Staff Development and Training:

  • Promote ongoing professional development for all care team members through regular training and education programs.
  • Coordinate in-service sessions on critical topics such as dementia care, infection control, and legislative updates.
  • Support a learning culture that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Crisis and Emergency Management:

  • Provide leadership and decision-making during emergencies or critical incidents involving residents or team members.
  • Ensure emergency protocols and response plans are followed to safeguard the health and safety of residents.

Other:

  • Performs other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • RPN/LPN with the College of Nurses in Ontario (must be a member in good standing).
  • Experience in progressively responsible roles with demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Graduate of a post-secondary certificate/diploma or degree program in nursing.
  • Demonstrated effective communication (written and verbal).
  • Effective problem solver.
  • Must be prepared to respond to emergency situations.
  • Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Persons Check required.
  • Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and be able to travel within Ontario.

Pay: From CA$85,000.00 per year
