Full job description

March Academy is a small independent school located in Kanata North serving students from grades 1 to 8. The working environment is ideal with classes of 5-10 students. Our teaching staff are experienced educators who work collegially as a team. We support each other to offer a high-quality educational experience for our students. We are exceptionally skilled at accommodating and modifying curriculum expectations to meet out students’ needs. We understand the importance of work-life balance which makes this an ideal position for a recently retired teacher. For new teachers, we provide an excellent mentoring program with many resources and lots of support. Various schedules are possible.

Part-Time Position 8:00 – 1:30 p.m. and or 1:30-4:00 p.m.

  • Plan and implement annual plans and daily lesson plans in the curriculum areas of Language and Math for a mixed aged primary class of no more than 10 students.
  • Differentiate instruction and provide just-right tasks to enhance learning.
  • Maintain open and regular communication with parents as required
  • Afternoon lessons in the areas of The Arts, Science, Social Studies, for mixed aged groupings.
  • Work with small groups and individuals.
  • Supervise students.
