Full job description

MEDICAL AESTHETIC TECHNICIAN Calgary, Alberta

This is not an entry-level esthetician role.

Stiletto MedSpa Calgary is a physician-led flagship MedSpa and training academy built on more than 20 years of medical-aesthetic experience.
We are hiring long-term Medical Aesthetic Technicians with current, hands-on experience in advanced aesthetics.
The strongest candidates will have worked in an established physician-led MedSpa or medical-aesthetic environment and will have recent experience with laser-based treatments, medical-grade skin treatments, microneedling, body contouring, client consultation, and treatment planning.
This is a demanding, high-performance role that combines technical skill, client care, sales, precision, and independent thinking.

The standard is technical, commercial, and service-driven: precise work, executive-level client care, and consistent performance.
Prior experience is expected.
Every selected team member will still be trained or retrained in our system.

This is not an entry pathway into aesthetics. It is a role for established technicians who are prepared to have existing habits refined, corrected, and rebuilt where required.

WHAT THE ROLE INCLUDES

  • Perform approved non-injectable medical-aesthetic procedures, including laser treatments, medical-grade facial treatments, microneedling, and body contouring
  • Assist physicians and nurses with selected procedures
  • Conduct consultations and educate clients on treatment plans, services, products, and packages
  • Prepare rooms, equipment, clients, and supplies
  • Maintain accurate treatment records
  • Keep rooms clean, stocked, safe, and ready
  • Notice what needs to be done and step in without waiting

WHO WILL DO WELL HERE
You may be a strong fit if you are:

  • Experienced in a real medical-aesthetic environment
  • Warm, confident, and strong with clients
  • Good with your hands
  • Reliable, punctual, and consistent
  • Organized and quick-thinking
  • Comfortable recommending a plan and discussing money
  • Able to accept correction and retraining without ego
  • Self-directed and hardworking
  • Looking for a serious long-term career

WHO WILL NOT DO WELL HERE
This is not a fit if you:

  • Are newly certified with limited real-world experience
  • Have esthetic experience limited to lashes, nails, massage, relaxation treatments, or home-based beauty services
  • Are primarily looking for training, certification, or an entry point into the industry
  • Want to “just do treatments”
  • Are uncomfortable selling
  • Need constant direction
  • Resist retraining
  • Cannot handle feedback
  • Prefer slow, repetitive work

COMPENSATION REALITY
This role has an hourly floor during training and early ramp-up.
It is not designed for someone who wants to remain at base pay.
The earning model is performance-based. Strong technicians can earn far above the hourly floor through services, products, and packages.
We are looking for people who see base pay as the floor, not the goal.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current, hands-on medical-aesthetic experience
  • Recent experience with laser-based or device-based treatments
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong spelling, counting, and record accuracy
  • Professional presentation
  • Comfort with hands-on work
  • Ability to remain active throughout the day
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends on rotation
  • High standards for cleanliness, safety, and client care

HOW TO APPLY
Please include brief answers to the following with your resume:

  • What laser-based and medical-aesthetic treatments have you personally performed during the past two years?
  • Have you worked in an established physician-led MedSpa or medical-aesthetic environment? Please describe briefly.
  • Tell us about a time you recommended a broader treatment plan or product program to a client successfully.

***Applications that do not include these answers may not be reviewed.

Position type: Full-time positions only.

Location: Calgary, Alberta.

Pay: $15.00-$145.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • On-site parking
  • Store discount

Application question(s):

  • 2. Have you worked in a physician-led MedSpa or medical-aesthetic environment under the supervision of a medical doctor?
  • 1. Do you have at least 3 years of hands-on experience performing laser-based or device-based medical-aesthetic treatments in an established professional setting?
  • 3. Are you comfortable having your existing methods retrained and recalibrated to our physician-led system, including consultations, sales, treatment preparation, room turnover, stocking, and assisting medical providers?

Work Location: In person
