Full job description

Digital Link is seeking a full time, Contract (3 months) IT Specialist – Tier 2 with experience in desktop support and server management. This role has the potential to transition into a permanent, salaried, full time, position with benefits. This position provides support to our diverse client base. This position requires excellent communication skills and a broad technical background to support an array of technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides email and phone support to clients
  • Project design, and fulfillment
  • Complete and escalate tickets when required
  • Documentation
  • Complete tickets escalated by Tier 1 staff.
  • Use of a ticketing platform for tracking documentation and tickets
  • Client site visits to resolve tickets
  • Develop solutions for
  • Configure, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and deploy Mac and Windows systems, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals
  • Documenting and applying best practices
  • Provide assistance with current and upcoming projects
  • Assist in administration of end user accounts using Active Directory and Microsoft 365
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues with Wi-Fi, LAN, and business specific networks

The successful applicant will possess the following skills:

  • Previous experience in Microsoft Active Directory
  • Knowledge in Google Apps and Microsoft 365 Apps
  • Experience with SharePoint environments
  • Strong Desktop troubleshooting skills
  • Familiar with SaaS applications and support
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Deadline and detail-oriented

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • 5 Years experience in an MSP environment
  • Post-secondary training in Network Administration or Computer Systems Administration
  • Microsoft MCSE, MCSA, or MCTIP (in progress or completed)
  • 2 years relevant IT experience fully supporting and building SMB environments.
  • 3 years’ experience managing & working with the following technologies:
  • Active Directory
  • Cyber-Security
  • DHCP
  • DNS
  • Exchange
  • Firewalls
  • GPOs
  • Hyper-V
  • Routing and Switching
  • TCP/IP
  • VPNs
  • VMWare
  • Windows Server
  • Apple products
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products, PC and Laptop hardware, network, and telecommunication equipment
  • CompTIA A+ certification preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with Fortinet products is an asset
  • Experience with Ubiquiti products is an asset

The compensation for this role is $27-$35 per hour.

This is a full time role, on site in either Edmonton or Calgary.
