Who We Are
At Spud, we believe that food is more than what’s on your plate: it’s how we enhance life while connecting to each other, our communities, and the planet.
As Western Canada’s leading online grocery delivery service, we champion healthy eating, sustainable farming practices, local food sourcing, and the reduction of food waste, powered by a highly automated, customized order and delivery system.
Beyond online delivery, we proudly operate Be Fresh Market retail stores in Vancouver and Blush Lane Market retail stores in Alberta. They are vibrant local markets that bring our values to life every day.
About the Role
We’re looking for an IT Analyst to join the team that keeps Spud’s information technology running smoothly and effectively. Someone who not only has the technical abilities but is curious, has strong communication skills, and likes to solve interesting problems that keep our people and worksites connected in a diverse working environment.
You’ll report directly to the CEO and collaborate closely with every internal, cross-functional team including Procurement, Marketing, Customer Service, Retail and Human Resources. You can expect to support multiple worksites in Western Canada including offices, retail stores and distribution centres.
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with the rest of the Corporate IT on troubleshooting escalated issues, maintaining system compliance, and supporting cross-department technology needs.
- Support with developing and maintaining efficient IT systems to meet operational, retail, and distribution centre needs.
- Analyze application support services for process improvements, automation, and reports.
- Analyze and implement interoperability and integrations of IT solutions and applications within security best practices.
- Participate in developing IT documentation on procedures, processes, knowledge base, user training, and seamless integration with service desk (Jira Service Management).
- Regularly communicate with cross-functional departments to improve overall IT systems and experience.
- Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls.
- Maintain IT asset solutions, procurement, inventory management, and software license implementations.
- Assist with account provisioning (onboard/offboard) of user accounts, permission, and groups in Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 suite (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint).
- Participate in scheduling and communicating updates and program rollouts.
- Maintain upgrades of office, physical, and virtual network.
- Continuously audit and manage licensing, upgrades and third-party applications.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external IT service requests through Jira Service Management.
- Coordinate and assist third party vendors to troubleshoot and escalate for problem resolution.
- Perform additional duties as required.
What You Bring
- 4+ years' experience supporting systems, networks, and end clients. Experience within a retail or operations environment is preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills with a friendly, engaging, professional, collaborative, and team-focused attitude.
- Ability to deal with all levels of personnel, build and maintain relationships, exercise discretion on confidential matters and work independently.
- Strong problem solving, conflict resolution, and root cause analysis.
- Experience analyzing processes and creating clear documentation and SOPs.
- Insatiable curiosity, a drive for continuous improvement and automation.
- Experience with both on-site and remote environments: Active Directory, Windows Servers, Office 365, Exchange Online and Azure Cloud.
- Strong knowledge of PC operating systems, specifically Windows Suite, Microsoft Teams, and relevant applications: MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
- Experience with business systems solutions such as point-of-sale systems, hand-held scanners.
- Ability to travel to onsite locations within geographical area if required.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
At Spud, you’ll be part of a passionate, purpose-driven team that believes great work and great impact go hand in hand. We celebrate curiosity, collaboration, and creativity; and we make time to celebrate wins along the way.
