Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, the Territory Manager (Metalworking Specialist) will promote and sell WALTER / ArcOne / Drillco / Triumph / Allegro / Greenfield Industries / Pushcorp & Hermes Abrasives, premium quality products to industrial, manufacturing, construction, and MRO facilities. Since all products are sold through distribution, the Territory Manager will also be responsible for marketing and training of these products to all relevant distribution personnel.

The territory to be covered includes Calgary & Southern Alberta.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage existing account base to targeted growth plan and generate new distribution channels within assigned territory.
  • Drive end-user demand on new product offerings to the marketplace.
  • Build and maintain distribution network for assigned territory.
  • Efficiently manage all required administrative functions, such as weekly reports; carefully manage selling expenses within assigned territory and business expense reporting.
  • Train distributors on our products/programs/new products/safety/pricing.
  • Together with our distributors, demonstrate and train end-users on our products – the application and use, benefits, and features.
  • Create end-user orders and bring orders to distribution on a regular basis.
  • Conduct product knowledge meetings, product safety seminars and product demonstrations for end users.
  • Organize, set up, and attend trade shows.
  • Utilize Walter sales tools and selling programs to increase the product sales to the existing customer base.
  • Support regional and national accounts.
  • Utilize Salesforce as an asset to manage opportunity pipeline.
  • Provide product sales forecast and business plan by category, and strategic targets annually.
  • Work with inside sales team to follow up and close sales leads within assigned territory.
  • Be strategic with time management allocating time to key accounts and accounts with the best growth opportunities within the territory.
  • Deliver high quality presentations internally and externally.
  • Meet daily/weekly Salesforce database management expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Strategic account manager experience.
  • Indepth knowledge of all appropriate sales channels including welding, safety, construction and industrial.
  • Relationship builder and ability to generate and cultivate new leads.
  • Ability to handle a high volume, fast-paced environment and maintain composure.
  • Strong ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organization skills.
  • A positive “can do” attitude.
  • Hands-on (ability to demonstrate products on sales calls)
  • Experience using Salesforce.
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Ability to think quickly on your feet.
