Candidates will be assessed and placed into one of the following areas based on strengths, experience, and performance:

  • Reception / Front Desk
  • Ophthalmic Technician Support
  • Surgical Booking Coordination

About the Role

We are seeking a high-functioning Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our team in a dynamic ophthalmology practice. This role is designed to support multiple areas of the clinic, with final placement based on the candidate’s strengths, experience, and interests.

Successful candidates will be assessed and placed into one of the following areas based on strengths, experience, and performance::

  • Reception / Patient Services
  • Clinical / Ophthalmic Technician Support
  • Surgical Booking Coordination

Key Responsibilities

Reception / Patient Services

  • Greet and check in patients in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Manage incoming calls and appointment scheduling
  • Coordinate patient flow and support front desk operations

Clinical / Ophthalmic Support

  • Assist with diagnostic testing and patient preparation
  • Support physicians and clinical staff during patient visits
  • Maintain exam room readiness and equipment

Surgical Booking Coordination

  • Schedule and coordinate surgical procedures
  • Communicate pre- and post-operative instructions to patients
  • Ensure accuracy of documentation and surgical workflows

Qualifications

  • MOA certification or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience in a medical or clinical setting is an asset
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
